Amazon is seeking a UAE Immigration Manager to support the needs of our growing organization. The immigration team within Employee Experience and Technology centrally manages global immigration filings and delivers projects to improve quality, cost and compliance of immigration services at Amazon.

In this Dubai-based leadership role, you will oversee a team of in-house immigration specialists responsible for managing end-to-end immigration services for Amazon candidates and employees. You will be accountable for improving employee and candidate experience, for coaching and developing team members, and for building and improving processes.

The right leader for this role values continuous improvement, process and data inspection, and has proven record in successfully growing and designing new programs and capabilities with the employee experience at the forefront.

This role will report into the EMEA immigration leadership and partner closely with other immigration and project specialists, both in the UAE and globally, including those with specific program oversight who support critical projects on our Business Operations, Strategic Projects and Process and Technology teams.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage and mentor a team of UAE immigration specialists, coordinators, Government Relations Officers (GROs) and Typists
  • Distribute work and provide stretch opportunities to foster individual development
  • Provide guidance on case-level filing strategies and processes
  • Act as point of contact for business and HR leaders on case-level escalation
  •  Partner with internal teams, including Recruitment, HR, Legal, Risk and Compliance and Public Policy, to review and understand the impact of UAE immigration changes and develop associated processes and filing strategies
  • Educate HR and business partners on UAE immigration policies and their impact on business and hiring strategies
  • Oversee Government Relations activities including liaising with UAE immigration authorities on case-level strategies and negotiating concessions
  • Partner with UAE and Global Immigration Program Managers to build performance measurement and inspection mechanisms and tools to evaluate the overall health of the UAE immigration program
  •  Identify process gaps and lead continuous improvement initiatives

Amazon is seeking a Sr. MENA (Middle East and North Africa) Immigration Specialist to support the needs of our growing organization. This Dubai-based leadership role will be focused on work across the region, with heavy focus on the UAE and Saudi Arabia, including analyses and filing strategies for entity restructures, M&A and in-country expansion filing strategies, and creation of compliant processes. This role will report into the Sr. EMEA Immigration Program Manager and partner with other peers on the larger Global Immigration Team.

Responsibilities include:

  • Hands on leader with proven track record of transforming immigration processes and programs
  • Understand current state of system, processes across the region, and immigration policy and regulations
  • Identify areas of redundancy or no-value add to ensure process, procedure, and optimization
  • Create tracking mechanisms and other dashboards that measure overall health of programs, such as cycle times, category usage, risk, and actively work to close any gaps
  • Work with internal partners and leadership to review and understand the impact of immigration changes and develop associated processes or filing strategies as needed
  •  Educate managers and business partners on employee immigration concerns, strategies, and guidelines
  •  Work closely with external partners to optimize services and elevate stakeholder experience
  • Mentor other Immigration Specialists on the larger team, particularly in program and project management, and provide stretch opportunities where appropriate based on interest/skill

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10+ years UAE immigration experience
  • Track record in managing high-volume immigration programs and improving operational efficiency and customer satisfaction
  • Extensive experience in leading Government Affairs liaison projects, including with NMC, TRA, DED and MoHRE
  • Extensive experience in advising senior business and HR leaders on complex immigration regulations and compliance risks (either in-house or in a management consultancy / legal setting)
  • Track record in identifying and resolving complex immigration issues, assuming leadership roles in unfamiliar or ambiguous circumstances
  • Track record in building strong networks/ relationships with internal and external leaders and implementing strategies in matrixed environments · Solid sense of accountability and sound personal judgment
  • Master’s degree in a related field (such as business management, Law or HR)
